Momma G's Progress

No new pictures, but wanted to put in an update. The walls are all finished and painted and the TVs were mounted last night. The floors should go in at the end of this week and as soon as they do all the equipment and booths can be installed. All the big stuff should be done the beginning of next week - by July 1. That will just leave getting in the food and getting all the employees trained. We are still thinking around July 15 for the opening, although any little thing can hold up everything else at this point.

Making it Official

The sign went on the front of the building today and Jud has started hiring employees.
The original target opening date was July 15, the contractor and Momma G's people think if they push it, it could open as early as the first of July. We are thinking maybe around the 8th?

5th Birthday!

Mom (Nana) made a tank cake complete with fruit roll up tracks, tootsie roll guns and soldier driving.
We borrowed the slide again from the next door neighbor. It is so much fun!

William First Camp Out

We got a tent a few months ago and hadn't put it to use yet. We thought it would be good to do so before the nights got to hot. We set up the tent on the deck and got sticks for our campfire/smores.
Jud made ribs for our camp dinner.

Bentley and Fred joined us when we got our bed ready.

At 8:00 (dark) we made smores and then got into bed to read books by the light of the flashlight. The air mattress doesn't hold air, so I told William after he went to sleep I was going to take him inside to his real bed instead of sleeping outside all night. A little after 9 he was still flopping around like a fish on a dock, so I asked him if he was ready to go in. He said yes.

Momma G's Progress

We went in with three other couples and purchased a Momma G's franchise. Jud will be the General Manager when it opens is July. The shopping center it will be located in had two empty suites in the middle, so we got both of them and will be making them into one deli. This picture is one half of the original site (the other half looked the same).
These next two pictures show it in progress. The center wall was removed for most of the expanse. The portion of the center wall that you can still see will be cut down to form a half wall which will have booth seating along both sides of it. The framing work shown here will be the serving bar and kitchen area.
A new floor had to be laid in the kitchen area to cover new pipes that had to be installed. William got to put his handprint in the wet cement. Unfortunately when we first went to do the print the cement was too soupy, so we had to come back - and when we did, it was already set pretty well, so the print doesn't show up really well. We did etch his initials and date into the cement though. His print, as well as the two girls of one of the other owners, will be under a shelving unit in the kitchen, so should be visible.
More updates to come. Look for the opening mid-July!
